Arngrim’s eldest son, bearer of Tyrfing, and the father who answers Hervor from the mound.
Overview
Angantyr first appears as Arngrim’s eldest son at the Samsey duel, carrying Tyrfing against Hjalmar. Both fall, and Hjalmar later dies of his wounds; Angantyr is buried with his weapons on the island. Years later, Hervor wakes her father in the mound. He warns that the sword will harm her family, then gives it to her nonetheless.
