Hero
Hjalmar
The warrior who duels Angantyr on Samsey and companion of Orvar-Odd.

Overview
In chapter 2, Hjalmar serves King Ingjald, and a competing marriage claim with Angantyr’s side is set for decision on Samsey. He refuses to flee and insists on facing Angantyr. The wound from Tyrfing kills him after the battle; the story places his death within the duel and his companion’s message home, rather than as a bare tally of victory and loss.
