Overview
In chapter 4, Hervor first learns from her foster father that she is Angantyr’s daughter, then takes on a travelling disguise and heads for Samsey. She does not heed the islanders’ fear of fire and the dead, but reaches her father’s mound and calls his name. Angantyr tells her not to take the sword; she keeps demanding her inheritance and leaves with Tyrfing.
