Eldir
Ægir’s servant, who tells Loki at the door what the company inside is discussing.
Overview
Eldir is more than a messenger. He says the gods are talking of their own deeds and warns Loki that they are angry with him. Having heard this, Loki declares that he will go in and disrupt the feast; their brief doorway exchange opens the poem’s first crack.
