Overview
Aeson is Jason’s father, and his presence gives the Argonaut voyage a dynastic pressure from Iolcus before the ship ever sails. Pindar’s Pythian 4 and Pseudo-Apollodorus both connect Pelias, the one-sandal warning and the Golden Fleece task. Within that pattern, Aeson represents a displaced or suppressed family line.
